Sage Smudging

The purpose of smudging is to cleanse and 'wash off' the energy of the outside world.
Sage is used for healing so is the perfect herb for smudging - the latin word for sage is 'Salvia' which stems from the word 'heal'. Scientists have observed that Sage can clear up to 94% of airborne bacteria and disinfect the air!
I grow my own sage and make my own smudging sticks which I often interlace with other herbs such as lavender, rosemary, bay and thyme.
The smoke from the lit smudge stick is used to bless, cleanse and heal the person, area or object being smudged.
Smudging is essential for lifting negative energies and emotions as well as to bring balance. When Sage is burned it releases negative ions, which is linked to putting people into a positive mood!
Sage essential oil is excellent also for not only disinfecting, its a fantastic pain reliever especially if used in conjunction with lavender, rosemary, peppermint, basil and helichrysum.
PM if you need some advice on essential oils or crystals or indeed if you feel in need of smudging.
Much love
